Reviewing the mission data as the pelican approached the drop zone, Marcus flipped through several small bits of intel and information, as well as the over-arching structure of basic information the UNSC had given him for the mission. Looking up at his companion and partner for this mission, Marcus swiped away the intel and smirked inside of his helmet. "So... Leon. You think you're ready for this? Doubt isn't something we can afford to have getting in out way during a civilian search and rescue." After asking, he then swiped up the telemetry data for the drop zone. "We've got several routes we could travel through, but what little survivors are being grilled and held in the town center. So that's where we need to get, you got any ideas Leon? How about your AI?" Marcus knew they'd be off into battle very soon, so he figured he'd get his curiosity out of the way, as well as getting a little insight into the mind of his partner for this mission.

Leon looked at the map, there were lots of Sandbags scattered across the area, but the way its done would make it so that the only vehicle that can move in the area are mongooses...which in of itself, is unfortunate, 

Titus then spoke to Marcus "Sorry about my friend here, he doesn't talk much at all....but he certainly does think a lot....that's for sure...." Titus stated the last part with a short chuckle. 

Leon noticed buildings as well, he found several areas that could be used for ambushes.....he looked ahead through the window of the drivers cockpit, and saw 2 large buildings, with lots of windows.... 'looks like we are heading for an area that looks just perfect to get ambushed at....not good.' if an ambush did happen, he had a plan to make sure that everyone on board the pelican survives...

Marcus was a little surprised when the AI responded in place of Leon, and laughed a little when he explained the Leon doesn't talk. "That's too bad. I'm sure he's quite an interesting guy." Marcus then leaned over to look past the seating through the cockpit's windows. "Why're we flying so close to the buildings? This doesn't really seem like a good ide-" Like a mighty shove the pelting of several explosive shots slammed into the side of the pelican from inside the tower beside them, rocking it and damaging it.

Three armor-clad insurrectionists wielding brute shots smirked as they took the side of the pelican to the scrap, causing it to spin out of control. Marcus grabbed his pistol and layed down some supressing fire from one of the breaches through the side of the pelican, shooting at the insurrectionists. "Damn innies. Alright everybody, we've got about fourty-five seconds before this pelican hits the ground, and I'm expecting more resisting forces down there. If anyone's got any plans, now'd be the time to tell me."

Leon pulled out enough Jetpacks for everyone on board the pelican, he put one on, gave 2 to the 2 pilots, and one to Marcus..."Well, I think what Leon is thinking should be a bit obvious...." Titus states with a short chuckle....the 2 pilots get out of the cockpit with the jetpacks on, and with Leon and hopefully Marcus, they all Jump off the Pelican, and while falling, Leon managed to take out 4 insurrectionists with his battle rifle, then he landed on the ground, using his jet pack to safely land...the pilots did the same...as did everyone who was on board the pelican...(that means Marcus should do the same as Leon...hopefully at the same time as him...) once landed, Leon and the troops went behind some cover, Leon of course checked his radar for movement...

Marcus was handed a Jetpack by Leon, and it seemed pretty obvious what Leon's idea was. All of the others jumped out of the Pelican, but Marcus had a riskier idea. Pulling himself outside of the Pelican, he dragged himself quickly along the spinning, falling pelican's wing and began to punch it. Hammering away until a quick snapping sound of torn and twisted metal was heard, and Marcus began to ride the wing of the Pelican straight down. The resisting forces of the ambushing insurrectionists were now clearly much larger than the Intel suggested, and as they appeared at first.


Slamming down into the ground with thunderous force, Marcus's Pelican wing landed on top of one insurrectionists and knocking around and over a few others. Now on the ground and reunited with the group from the Pelican, Marcus pulled his Assault Rifle off of his back and gestured in the direction of the town center. "Let's hustle Marines. We've got narrow pathways to cleave through if we're gonna save those civies. Watch for another ambush, have your guns ready, and protect yourself." Marcus was still shooting at insurrectionists in concentrated bursts with basic shots from his Modular Assault Rifle.

Leon readied his battle rifle "I've set up way points to the hostages thanks to all the chatter the rebels are bringing up....but something about how easy this is doesn't sit right with me...stay on guard marines..." Titus stated as he set up way points..."hmm...things seem to be a bit quiet on the chatter all of a sudden..." Leon went through a building...taking cover to kill some rebels, then he went upstairs, continueing to kill more rebels, he then dodged a bullet, then shot at a wall, the bullet richocheted and killed off the rest of the rebels in the building. 'that was close...' he thought to himself, as he got to the top of the building.  Leon got to the roof, and took aim..."hmm....I would recommend that you take cover...and search for an opportunity, because it seems that the rebels have manufactured a tank....and its not a scorpion tank....its bigger...and has more guns..." Leon noticed the tank...it was massive.....made the scorpion tank look like a Warthog...'just what the hell were these rebels building.....' was all Leon thought to himself, he began jumping accross the buildings...searching for a way to get into the tank...and commandeer it. once he does that...he can have Titus download the schematics for it, so that the UNSC can have their own tanks of this class...of course..he has to get inside first...

the tank in question...is not in Marcus's sight...in fact, its where the rebels are being kept, and guarding the building.

Marcus linked the waypoints up with his visor's HUD, and began to head through the narrow paths of the streets with whatever marines didn't follow Leon, keeping his hand on the trigger finger and cleaving through. Meeting up eventually with the massive tank that Leon had just come across, Marcus had a look of awe underneath his helmet. Zephyr arked up. "Holy fuck! That's one whopper of a tank!" Zephyr then laughed as he scanned it from their grounded location. "No points of entry on the ground, right Zeph? Might need to take it out, unless our friend here has a better idea. But he better act quick, that things pointing right at us!"

Leon continued to jump across the buildings, then, he found a spot where if he jumps down, he could land right on top of the tank....he then jumped down, and landed on top of the tank's main gun....he looked over..and saw the door to get in the tank, he opened the hatch forcibly, and hopped inside...he broke a guy's neck, then shot another guy, he grabbed, and shoved a guy on a wall, breaking the guy's neck in the process.

He threw a knife which stabbed another guy's neck, effectively killing him. after killing the rebel crew(which was like 15 people in the tank....) he then put Titus into the Tank's network, downloading the schematics, and destroying the enemy AI. Leon then proceeded to, with Titus helping him, Drive the Baneblade Tank. he turned it, and made it move out of Marcus's path.....

Titus can be heard in Marcus's com. "Leon has taken over the Baneblade Tank. proceed forward Marcus. I have downloaded the schematics for the tank into myself, it will take awhile to decipher the schematics, but nonetheless, for now, we should continue with the mission." Leon got out of the tank, with Titus, they went back to the roof tops, he had some marines go in and drive the Baneblade tank, no need to waste a perfectly good resource afterall...

Marcus listened as Titus told him that Leon and he had taken control of the tank. "Cheers for removing the tank from my path." Marcus said as he gestured for the marines to follow him, making a few hand signals that basically meant 'Follow me, but keep alert'. Not knowing what was ahead. Following along the path towards the Waypoint set on his visor's HUD, Marcus efficiently handled the innies as they attempted several ambushes and attacks. "Now... All we need is to get past this blockade." He said as he looked at the several cars and trucks piled around the city center so that no one could get it. "Hey Titus pal, order your buddies in the tank to blow that wall to smithereens. I'll have Marcus clear our group away. Idea's fucked, but it's the best I got." Zephyr said to Titus with his usually grifty and macho voice. "Settle down Zeph. Come on Marines, we're moving to minimal safe distance."

Leon was on the roof tops, still shooting the rebels.

"hmmm....I'd recommend we keep the rebels distracted, make them think that all our fire is taking place out here where we are, while You and Leon get to the Town center. This tank certainly helps in keeping them distracted, as it seems that this tank is very important to them...." he states as he uses the Baneblade to literally RUN over an enemy Mantis. "wait, I just got some news from the rebels chatter, they got more Baneblades surrounding the town center, but...." he began to shoot at some rebel Scorpion tanks "they are going to have 3 of them come here, that will leave an opening, use that to get in, once in." Titus then fires a tank shot at the Scorpion tanks, destroying them all in one shot "one of you will have to commandeer a Baneblade tank they have inside the town center itself, use that to get the hostages out, the last person will have to take down or capture the rest of the baneblades." he began rolling to fight off more of the enemy.

Leon heard and looked at Marcus, and nodded a 'yes' and began to jump across buildings, and jump into windows , and jump through more windows to get into other buildings to avoid getting caught by the rebels, if he is caught by one or 2, he simply kills them.

"that's my recommendation , unless Zephyr has another one?" Titus asks curiously....while shooting at more rebels with the multitude of barrels the tank wields.

Marcus listened to Titus' plan carefully, and held his fist up gesturing for everyone to be quiet and cease fire. Leading his troops silently past the baneblades as they came out, he whispered through comms. "This operation needs to be undetected, alright boys?" He asked. "Sir yes sir." They responded. He then sent a waypoint destination to two members of the marines that were with him, and told them to take over the baneblade tank he'd locked their hud's on. "Remember boys. Silent, Quick, No distractions." They nodded and took over the tank, incapacitating everyone inside before tying them up. "If my actions weren't indication enough, the plan sounds fine Titus. My boys are handling the hostages. Any recommendations for us taking down the other Baneblades?"

Leon was outside the baneblade, then, on instinct, he turned his gun over to a hallway, thinking he heard something, he slowly walked forward, hearing some slimy noises, his eyes narrowed, having a really bad feeling about what he is about to run into...

with the rebel baneblades, the rebels could hear the slimy noise, "shit, the subjects has escaped! I repeat the subject has escaped!" one of them stated, inside 3 of the baneblades, one could hear the rebels getting pierced by something, and then...gurgling sounds could be heard.

"I just heard something on radio chatter...it seems that the rebels were experimenting with something they really shouldn't have....an now, the rebels are terrified. it seems we won't have to worry about the baneblades...most of them have suddenly gone offline!" a roar is heard, one that would be horrifyingly familiar to any war veterans on duty. 

Leon turned, and saw...a Flood infection form, his eyes widened and narrowed further, he shot and killed the infection form. 'shit, Flood....' he ran to the baneblade, as he ran, he heard more slimy noises, he got on the baneblade, and when the infection forms started pouring through the hallways, he began shooting to take them out.

Marcus froze in terror for a moment, as he heard the slimy, sticky, jittery little patters of the flood spores slithering and skittering about, jumping up and around and overtaking those poor insurrectionists. "Dammit. Of all the idiotic things the innies could do... they do this!" Firing controlled bursts in attempts to prevent the spores from getting to bodies to turn them into the horrific and powerful vessels we call infection forms, Marcus's group stood behind him. Marcus analysed the field for anything he could effectively use. He could switch to his modular incendiary rounds in his Assault Rifle, but they wouldn't last long enough... "Marines! Scour the area, look for any effective means of dealing with our current threat. Those stupid innies can wait for now." The marines scattered, and began to search every nook and cranny.

Marcus ran over to the Hall in the very center of town, where the hostages had been held. He hoped with every fiber of his being that the insurrectionist's mistakes hadn't cost these innocent lives. "Zephyr, give me a scan for life signs." Marcus asked aloud, his rifle held close as he stuck to the wall, keeping an eye on his motion tracker. "Left on the end here, follow along and take out the flood motherfuckers in the way, the life signs are shown to rooms across from the final door at the end there." Marcus marked the position on his HUD, and prepared for whatever flood forms would be in said hallway.

Leon decided to go back to that room, he picked up a minigun from the tank, as well as have his sword ready, he got moving, ready to tear the flood apart, "so Leon, what do you have planned?" Titus asked, Leon made it clear that he was now trying to cut off the flood from the source. he killed any flood forms in his way, he then heard something crawling around in the vents, this made him a bit worried, so he aimed his weapon at a vent, he heard a vent break open, and aimed it, and saw a new flood form 'this is new...' he decided to name the new flood form: Slasher. he shot at it, it was clear to him that normal damage to the chest area wasn't going to do anything, so he shot the limbs, he managed to tear them off with gun fire, and it clearly did damage that way, so he tore off the other limb, which in turn, killed the thing. Leon then continued forward, but not before saying one thing on the radio with his deep voice "new Flood form found, aim for the limbs, watch the vents!" he stated in a stern voice that left no room for argument, the fact he spoke at all spoke how dangerous the situation is. Titus then suddenly made a suggestion "I'd recommend that we have troops completely surround the building, and make sure that no Flood escapes the Building, as long as we do that, The Spartans can eliminate the Flood from within."

near Marcus, things could be heard crawling in the vents, a vent opening near Marcus suddenly broke open, and a slasher type Flood from came out, roared at Marcus, then charged at him while using it's weapon arms to slash at him.
