The compound used in the power cells of this race is made from several extremely dense materials that normally have a tiny half life, and are incredibly difficult to produce. Through unknown methods, these materials have been stabilised, and formed into a compound capable of holding incredible amounts of power, and releasing it when hit with focused lasers on particular angles, while receiving it from lasers fired at a different set of angles. The intensity of the beam changes the amount of power released or charged. However, this compound is impossible to reproduce. As a result, only the stocks onboard the abandoned ships that have been located can be used.
The alloys in use by this race are equally complex, and are both incredibly strong (roughly twice as resistant to damage as titanium-A, although also around 2x as heavy), and just as impossible to reproduce as the compounds in the power cells.
The armour plating on their ships has proven to be quite a mystery. The outer layer is the alloy mentioned above, however the layer beneath is some sort of semi-organic material that 'regrows' damaged plating over time, as well as regrowing itself over the outer layer. While these repairs take a while to begin, they are around as fast as using a shipyard to repair a UNSC ship once they finally do. The layer below this is an effective heat-dispersal layer, comparable to the use of tungsten underplating by UNSC vessels.
Perhaps the most intriguing of their underlying concepts is the circuitry itself. Partially organic, the technology in their ships is networked as a gigantic 'brain' for whatever AI is stationed in the fleet's dreadnought, and capable of self repair, as well as being able to form new connections to bypass damaged sections. Sadly, connecting our technology to these systems has proven impossible, with a few exceptions (notably their original AI slots, which have been fitted with bulky 'adapters' to allow UNSC AIs to put them to use).
Their ships have, in addition to their anti-gravitational drives (that, unlike the covenant equivalent, merely serve to negate gravity rather than move the ship), powerful propulsion drives capable of matching the most modern technology. These drives have sets of smaller maneuvering thrusters on the side, allowing for incredible control over the movement of the ships, as well as complex maneuvers.
The first listed piece of their more advanced technology, their fusion generators are marvelously efficient. The cells on the rim absorb all of the energy produced with near-zero percent loss, while the gravity-generating rings serve to stabilise the reaction and hold it in place, constantly adjusting to match the movement of the reaction, moving like blurs when the reactor is active. This is done by generating a powerful gravitational field around the reaction, with the edges facing the cells being opened to allow energy to escape in pulses. Beneath, in the indent, the material is fed into the reaction, pushed in by the gravity rings, ready to be fused. This produces more power than either covenant or human reactors by a fair amount, and is significantly smaller. However, as stated in the circuitry section, it is almost impossible to link any known tech into the power conduits of these ships, meaning the power difference is mostly meaningless.
The main weapons of the alien craft are a form of plasma beams similar to those used by the covenant. Most craft are fitted with a large number of small ones, using these to fire at large enemy craft. While the normal small ones are not much more effective than plasma torpedos against either shields or armour, they do prove to be surprisingly accurate. Additionally, they can be aimed around, as they are usually fitted onto rotating turrets. The one pictured is a larger one, forward-facing only, but more potent. Assumed to have a similar role to the UNSC's MAC cannons, and similarly powerful.
The anti-gravity drives used by this race are similarly elegant to those used by the covenant. The difference however lies in their nature. These drives do not propel the craft themselves, instead, they merely negate gravity's effects on it. The mechanisms by which they work are poorly understood, but appear to be similar to the rings on the fusion reactors, albeit on a much larger scale. These devices are rather large.
The molecular forge used in the alien dreadnought is an almost miraculous piece of technology. It uses the central beam to 'mold' materials, changing its focus and intensity, splitting it, and moving it as needed, while putting material into place using the set of movable sections that form the ring around the edge, which have small 'nozzles' on them. It can construct anything in its database in seconds, provided it has the correct materials. Sadly, all but two of its designs have been corrupted over time. While it has been given the designs of several UNSC weapons and tools successfully, the two remaining designs are railgun-based designs, nicknamed the Vajra VCP and the Vajra M50. The designs have been modified to include their names on the side.
The communications system used by this race is a set of relays that use similar systems to the Covenant battlenet to link all ships in a fleet together through their dreadnought, although more heavily encrypted. Each ship acts as an extension of the dreadnought's own semi-organic systems, which form a single massive 'brain' for up to two AIs to use. While this design can completely avoid rampancy, reproduction is quite impossible. We'd have better luck reproducing the domain before making something like this, at least once the sheer efficiency of making one domain over thousands of these systems is taken into account. Even though making one of these is easier, numerous are needed to be any use.
The slipspace drive used by this race is surprisingly rudimentary. Similar in accuracy, safety, and range to a covenant slipspace drive, but operating through unknown mechanisms, it seems to be a good portion of the power draw in the ship, comparable to the entire semi-organic circuitry system.
The aliens' point-defense system is a highly accurate set of pulse lasers, similar in every capacity to those used by the UNSC or the Covenant.
