It began snowing, the white flakes falling from the sky in a constant rate. It was a somewhat calming atmosphere for what was soon to take place. Jason was being flown in to the UNSC weather Station Z/48. It was in the Arctic, an area of this planet Jason was not particularly fond of. He may not be able to feel the cold air on his armor, but he knew it lingered around him as the Hornet flew him closer with each passing second. "Sure, I can grab the intel from there and have it ready for pick up before sunrise." He had said to the informant over the encrypted com-link they had established. It would be an easy collection and reconnaissance ordeal on from what he could tell was a lightly guarded Arctic compound. The information he needed would be on the lower floors of the bunker, with in the planet's crust.
Jason really hoped that he would not encounter much resistance from the guards at the base an hoped for the best that nothing higher ranked than a marine as there. He assumed the dark would cover him at least until he made it into the main base itself. The Hornet was blocking any coms or sensors that would pick it up from the outside or inside the base.

Red was in her usual mood while on guard duty with her being on a tower in -30 degrees or whatever it was, doing nothing but eating cookies and playing "I, spy" with her sniper's Interface. This night was specifically terrible as every so often Red would be forced to put her helmet back on because she couldn't take the cold anymore and needed warmth, which led her to her layer objective.
"...hey hey hey! I think I found a rabbit!" Hee voice would shout to herself, as she was the only one on guard at the South Enterence, and spotted down her scope on a moving, small, and white animal that ran hilariously fast for anything she had seen. Upon further inspection, she noticed it was an Arctic Beast, one of the sabrecat looking demons, and decided to let it go. "As long as it is cool with me, it doesn't have to die" she finished off before Crescent broke her silence.
"Red, take this job seriously please... If you get harmed because you were not paying attention I will not call for help" Her worried voice spoke in her gentle, motherly tone. She was obviously joking on the calling for help part, that being an obvious example of the things that could happen, and Red shortened indefinitely as she said this.
"Cresc... You weren't being serious right?" She asked hesitant slightly, almost stuttering from stress of what she has heard from her AI which seemed more intelligent then she was herself.
"Of course you idiot, now do your job so we can go back home to Mombasa where it is at least 50 degrees 24/7" was the reply she got, before finishing the small talk with a simple reply.
"Mi gusta"

The hornet brought Jason ever closer to the base, he still stood one and a half clicks from it and th snow cover was mostly flat for the rest of the way. "Here, drop me now, it's fine." He said to the pilot as they crossed the white wasteland. 'You sure? You still have a mile to walk from here.' The pilot went to respond to the spartan, but he was already free falling to the planet's surface.
"Now let's get going to the Base." Jason said to himself in his robotic voice. While he was walking towards the base he came across a large Arctic Beast, almost as a large, dire wolf sized beast. "Here buddy, Let me wring you a nice one." Jason said as he crouched with his arms away from his sides and was walking a circle around it.
It came at him at a wondrous speed and jumped at him, but Jason caught its neck between his the bend of his arms and threw it to the ground. The animal in the end was left on the ground injured. Jason spared its life this time as he had no way to properly cook the meat if he had. He then continued on his way to the base, the next click would offer him an interesting challenge if he got a decent sniper on his way there.

Red peered down range more before a beep alerted her HUD with a red dot appearing right in the bottom left side of her screen.
"It is a call, from the north gate patrol" Crescent said to Red as she answered the blinking sound.
"There appears to be a wounded Arctic Beast here. We have taken it and placed it on the back of our snowmobile but there seems to be a heavy snowstorm happening here up north... we need you to go alert the veterinarian of us coming in." The male's voice said drastically as if though there was some kind of problem. He was obviously breathing heavy, and the snowstorm howled behind his voice.
"G-Got it" Red replied while jumping off her tower and thudding against the snow below as her legs fell about a foot deep into the cold substance. Her body recoiled as it was pushed down into the comfy pillow that was the midnight cold. Her armor was weird, as if it came into contact with water, or snow (Due to it heating the snow) it would require more of a push to get moving. She trudged through the few feet to the door that lead inside the factory that was the weather station, and up the stairs as she heard a loud thud sound coming from the hall with the supercomputer she was strictly told never to enter. Unsheathing her handgun, as she left her rifle in the tower, she opened the tower slowly as she pointed her pistol in every corner until training her sights on the culprit of the noise. A raccoon that was digging through the wires until finding the now helmet-less Red, and jumping for her face.
BAM BAM BAM
That was the only noise in the silence as three handgun shots landed into the massive fury animal before blood sprayed Red's face. She stood silent as the doctor burst in the room wielding a shotgun as she usually did when she thought someone was breaking in. She lowered the gun when she saw Red turn around, showing her bloody face, and came over to see her subject dead on the floor and torn wires in the now unavailable to use computer.
"Red.... I am sad you resorted to violence against him, but thank you for preventing any further damage... I would advise cleaning your face before doing anything else, as Raccoon blood often has many diseases you could die of" The Doctor said, before picking up the dead animal and hauling it out the door before Red stopped her with her hand on the busy Veterinarian's shoulder.
"Ma'am, te patrol are bringing an injured Arctic beast. Something harmed it badly, and it needs help".
"What could have hurt a Arctic Beast? They are on top of the food chain here... nothing can beat a Arctic beast".
"Don't ask me, I like puppies not massive snow lions".
"Fine... Thank you Red, Good day". The conversation ended there, as the vet walked through the door. Red got the idea it would be best to simply wait for the marines as she was the only Spartan at the base and replaced her helmet as she walked to the entrance, waiting with her handgun out in case of animal attacks.

"Well... I expected more out of something that large to be honest." Jason said as he moved closer to his target, the compound. He had dropped the monster a while back and decided he didn't have the time to poach the beast before a patrol moved in closer. "I wonder how they'll react to that. Bet they'll shit themselves." Jason said smiling under his helmet and tossing his handgun into the air to catch it as it came back down. Once coming up to the compound he would proceed to climed the side of the wall by slamming his hand into the metal and pulling himself up with it. ""You would think on their budget they would aim for more durable buildings... even here."

As the patrol lugged into the gate, Red ran over and picked up the unconscious Arctic Beast. She had began to lug it back into the base when an alarm began to blare through the thick fog, shouting for lock down. An animal must have began to tear at one of the walls, and if it was so then an Arctic Beast would be her opponent. She threw the body of the first at the marines, which it ultimately collapsed on as they could not bear the weight that Red could with one hand, and quickly ran for the south wall with her gun holstered down to her thigh, with a hand ready for use.
"Red, we need not have any incidents like last time... I couldn't bear to watch them beat you, even if you are a spartan, you have limits, and THEY know that"
"I know that Cresc, I'll deal with this mission very clearly... I am suprised they didn't kill me for my act of treason..."
"Well I would have if it wasn't for the fact that this is you we are talking about"
"Fine, I hear your threats and I'll obey"
"Good" was the end of the conversation momentarily as she arrived at the wall and saw the holes on the wall that seemed to have been punched through.
"What the actual fuck?" Red said aloud, seeming the holes that were perfectly made, punched through by someone with amazing strength... "This was obviously not a Marine or Merc, not that I know of at least". She climbed the wall's ladder and looked down the wall to see red, possibly blood, and foot marks. She jumped down, before the alarm began to die down and she began to get worried. She kicked a hole in the wall, and tore through it, not thinking, and ran for the closest door to find the lights out and the vet's shotgun on the ground. She picked it up, pumping out a fired shell, something that rarely happened, and held it up to use it's flashlight to peer around corners until deciding to go forward into the next room... the animal room. Nothing in there liked her, so she would have issues, but as long as her armor was on she would be safe.

"Total body count one and a lot of animals set free, I guess that evens out as a neutral act?" Jason said as he continued forward to the elevator towards the center of the compound, he had his handgun at the ready in case something went awry. He could hear the various animals trying to kill one another in the back room. Their heat signatures rising as they all got agitated. He also heard a faint click in the hallway behind the animal room, but dismissed it as someone following him, he wasn't concerned as he couldn't really die.

As Red entered the animal room, blood was all she saw along the multiple bodies of animals while a fed Arctic Beast lounged over the corpses. Red fired three shells into the beast before it fell to it's knees. She snapped it's neck to ease it's suffering. "That was noble of you Red" Crescent remarked, in actually impressed by her need to ease it. "I try..." She said, stopping as she heard thudding through the medal corridor and seeing the vet sitting in her chair, reading a book. Red approached the woman, noticing she paid no attention to Red's entering or movement towards her. Red was scared, seeing the horror that was in front of her. The Vet's head was severed completely from her body, but was intricately placed so the spinal cord laid perfectly on the removed one at the base of the neck where the severage began. Her chest had what appeared to be blood streaming from it down her breasts and on the book, which was her favorite (Raiden on Komachi). Her body, due to the cold air around them, was already deep into Rigor Mortis and was unable to be moved as the head toppled off and knocked the book from her bloody hands. Red gagged slightly, having seen her colleges be tortured before, but this was plain lunacy, and forcefully removed her helmet and vomited on the ground, mixing her stomach acids with the blood of both her friend the Vet, and various species of animal. She replaced her helmet, looking around to see a gas leak, and noticing the pipe was removed. When she thought it couldn't get any worse, she began to piece together why the body of the Vet stood up so well.... the missing pipe was jammed over her spine! Red gagged again, not vomiting but tearing up from the sheer thought of such pain. She checked her newly acquired shotgun, dropped from the Doctor herself, for it's ammo supply, finding a set of ten shells in the chamber, and four on a leather holster on the side of the gun. She was reluctant to, but she dug through the pockets of the Doctor's coat and pulled out an extra ten shells, totaling at a maximum of twenty four shots. She frowned, wondering where the other shells went to, as normally there were hundreds of boxes of ammo in the room with her (vet) as she was a massive control freak, yet she only saw empty casings, almost as if the gunpowder had been stripped of them. She stripped herself of her helmet again, sniffing the air and smelling the nice smell of gunpowder fill her nostrils. She could tell she fired not to long ago, but something happened to the shells, and she could care less of it's reasoning. Again replacing her helmet, she leaned down the hallway, moving the little dog figurine strung to the pump of the shotgun o she had a better grip, before removing it entirely and putting it up, in her pistol holster to remember her fallen comrade, and noticed as the hallway's light bulbs had been shattered, spooky like, almost like a Japanese horror game based in an abandoned town, or something like that, and she saw something that filled her eyes with distraught. She saw a spartan. A quick glimpse of the helmet of a scout class spartan armor as the elevator doors closed utterly killed her faith in her mission. She was the most skilled Spartan of her division, but her division was currently only three people, two marines (One being a previous spartan) and her, all snipers, so her beusy was called for, but she had only been able to pass a normal spartan in open combat, with the extra help of her blades, but she has lost her many battles. If it came down to mid-range, she was screwed. She was a master of stealth and marksmanship, but she knew when she could kill something from her current distance. She pulled the strap on the RPC tight, making it closer to her body, she ran as fast as possible to the elevator, and yanked the doors apart with all her might. As she metal scraped from it's hinged parts, she unsheathed the RPC from her back and turned on the amazing beast, releasing it's howl to the whole building. As she did this, she aimed below the shaft of the elevator and spotted the one the Spartan would currently be riding, and fired her Rocket propelled Chainsaw, blades turning as it zoomed at top speed and was destined to collide with the massive bulk of metal. No steel could stop the RPC, as it would cut through it like paper.

"I didn't expect the lights to bust that easily, I only tried to absorb eighty percent of their energy." Jason thought as he rode the elevator down to the bottom floor of the facility. His time in the compund had been fairly regular, two death on his count so far today and he was feeling good. He decided to be a little gruesome with the last one too, severing her head and propping her in a manner to hopefully horrify the next person to see her. However one thing had caught his attention, as the elevator doors had closed on his he was a feminine figure standing in the hallway coming from the room he had left. She must have been the one that was following him, he had checked her heat signature and she was giving off a high one, like she was mad or concerned for whatever reason beyone his caring. She was in red spartan armor, but Jason didn't get the time to tell what class it was.
As Jason thought of the events that had occured so far he heard metal ripping above him and slamming against a nearby wall. "Looks like I'll have me a little company soon, best wait by the wall of the elevator in case she tries something stupid." Jason said as he heugged the wall of the elevator waiting for her action. While he waited there a chainsaw tore through the other half of the elevator, cleaving through it and proceeding to go down to the bottom floor of the shaft. "What the hell!... Was that?" Jason said as it passed through. He then looked down and saw this as an opportunity to get down a tad faster. He fire his sub machine gun up the shaft to let his persuer know he was still alive and kicking. As he fell towards the bottom he could feel the radiation being let off by the reactor below. He hit the ground with little to no effect, his shield blinking once, but not taking any damage. He walked over to one of the barrels of fallout constantly produced by the reactor as it ran tweny four hours a day for the facility. He rammed his hand into it, absorbing the radiation inside of it until the liquid was nuetralized to nothing but a green goo that was as consistent as water, he kicked it over before walking to the room containing the termianl that held the intelligence he needed to collect. The goo spread harmlessly across the floor, still glowing some with trace levels of radiation Jason had no need to collect.

As Red watched the hunk of metal fall down the shaft dangerously, slamming into the ground. Before it hit, some bullets came directed toward her... Shell-less bullets it looked like, from a fully automatic gun... she must be up against a pro. As she pondered this, the thud of the crash reminded her she needed to pursue this bitch and interrogate him. As she thought it over, rather go get her gun, or risk it all and drop the RPC here and jump with nothing but her handgun. She didn't know what to do, but simply said fuck it and jumped down as quickly as possible, landing gracefully against the ground, rising a thick cloud of smoke and dust. She unholstered her handgun and jump rolled behind some metal chunks that had fallen off of the main product, and aimed down her iron sights down the open space at the barrels. She didn't expect much, as she never came down here, but the simply amazing amount of radioactive fluid astounded her. "We don't have to shoot each other, we can work this out peacefully" She shouted through her COM and outwardly to the Spartan that stood near her. Would he run? Or attack? She had no clue, but he remembered what she forgot right before jumping, and braced as she noticed the Military Grade, Benelli-Supernova, Automatic Shotgun fell down and landed, butt first, against the hard concrete, firing a deadly blast straight up the shaft before falling over directly in Red's couched lap. ".....Ummmm Ignore that please?" She questioned the last bit with a pause, confused as to what to say about it, and clear she wouldn't have started a fight if it wasn't for that damned gun, but she knew something would happen, she she quickly holstered her pistol and grabbed the shotgun, fumbling over it's non-Spartan mechanics as it was an extremely old brand and an extremely old gun, with a pump, and an actual reloading dock that got in the way of the trigger, which had a finger guard the suit had issues complying with. She questioned if he would fight her, as she would probably die, and hoped Crescent wasn't about to see her die. "Crescent, hear me out, if things get hairy, cloak me, K?" She said, finally remembering she still was speaking aloud, yet Crescent heard. "Sure, Rose, I'll do my best".
