Finally arrived.


If that female has already left by now...

Thoughts like that and similar had been running though Zin's head for the past day as he and his ride, a Kig-Yar supply ship bringing in supplies to one of Sedran's smaller cities who were more open to Alien assistance, had been stuck for so long trying to actually get on the planet. They had been told it would take a 'few hours' for their vessel to be checked but the Sedran Colonial Guard had, after the normal ship scans, made them dock at one of their checkpoints and have the entire vessel physically checked over as well as the crew themselves. The Kig-Yar had done so willingly, having been in communication with the city they were trying to deliver to to help confirm their stories and to have the mayor inform the inspectors that he was very angry with them for delaying honest traders like these Kigs. It would add to the cost of the delivery to be sure.

The Captain of the supply ship had also told Laz that this was something that had been happening for longer each time lately. Apparently they kept getting new bosses of these border guards and each of them were more paranoid and xenophobic of the ones that had come before. Apparently some Sangheili had tried to blow up one of the cities before - or do something to the capital before and now they were paranoid of aliens. Whatever. It gave Zin more time to prepare for his chase after the Traders dropped him off.

The Inspectors were actually surprised when he informed that they he was what they would call a Bounty Hunter and helped Zin to talk to some of their police forces to find the female Human target. They were less that happy to hear that he had been hired to kill her but it was what the Ibie'Shan had wanted. Apparently this 'Lesisly Bonit' had been a former Human contact for the 'Shan's trading company and had been skimming funds off the top of every delivery. And when confronted about this by one of the Ruuthian Employees she stabbed them in the throat and ran. Ran supposedly to this planet and Sedran City but she could have easily left if she suspected she was being perused. And she cleary did with the planets she had been hopping already.

But her head as well as the rings on both her hands had been contracted for and Zin would do his best to deliver. The Sedran police informing Zin that a woman matching her description had been seen leaving Sedran city last night heading toward the Lake.

So, after being dropped off outside of Sedran City on the far side of the Lake Zin was now stalking through the forest around the lake toward Sedran City. Goggles down over his eyes and watching the simple motion tracker as he moved at a half crouch. Sniffing and scanning for signs of Human activity, specifically Human Female activity. The T'vaoan with DMR across back, pistol on belt, and just in his clothing and armored vest with a simple chest rig with some basic supplies in it and a small sac for carrying and preparing the head. But due to the evasive nature of his quarry so far he was also wearing one of his small shield emitters on his left wrist. The hopeful goal of today was to find and kill Lesisly, retrieve the needed proof and wanted items, and then travel into Sedran City to catch a ride to make it back to the Traders to leave the planet. Zin also having a radio on his belt for contact with the Traders but it was turned off currently.

N'tho was on Sedra, three hours after completion of his own covert hit operation on a Sangheili deserter who had killed one of the Arbiter's followers during an altercation while in battle before scattering to protect themselves. Just the thought of it made N'tho's blood boil. It was disgusting and dishonerable. Walking out into the woods so that he could find a place to signal the LZ for his way off the planet, he noticed a lone Jackal stalking the treeline moving towards the Sedran City. While it wasn't really a matter concerning his mission, N'tho was curious and began to tail the Jackal as quietly as possible. Something about this seemed shifty. "Kig-Yar can never be trusted." He muttered to himself quietly.

Zin was finally starting to feel a little better about the past few days when he found some tracks. Well evidence of the females passage at least. Some strands of red hair on an overhanging branch and a few berries dropped off a bush under them. The female either came through here at some speed, was injured, or exhausted. And it was recently made as the hair had not fallen and berries uneaten from the forest creatures. But...there was something else now. Glancing down at the motion tracker in his goggles Zin started to move off as he watched it. Nothing on the tracker but he was smelling something else...Sangheili? With some flecks of Sangheili blood? Crouching down and looking at another disturbed bush so he wouldn't appear suspicious Zin listened carefully. It was only one thing after him. One Sangheili was following him for some reason. And now he couldn't smell anything besides that pungent Sangheili smell.

Grumbling a little Zin glanced back up at the trail before standing up, keeping his eyes on the trail ahead but not making a move to turn around or draw a weapon as he knew how trigger happy the Sangheili could be with the 'lesser races'. Swallowing to make sure his voice wouldn't crack too much Zin started to speak in the more guttural language of the Sangheili as he kept his arms at his side, palms facing backwards towards his follower.

"Is there a reason you are following me Sangheili? I am on assignment right now and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't slow me down more than I already have been."

Sangheili? The Jackal could speak Sangheili. Ex-Covenant, just like N'tho himself, most likely. Responding to his question in the same language, N'tho explained. "You are suspicious. I'm just making sure you aren't here to stir up any trouble." N'tho did the equivalent of spitting on the ground and glaring untrustfully at the Jackal. "Nasty, sly-handed thieves can't be trusted. Especially when heading towards a populated location." He got the point that he didn't like him across clear as day.

Rolling his eyes behind his goggles as the Sangheili responded in typical Sangheili high-and-mighty ness Zin waited until he was sure he was done before respond. And did the Sangheili spit on the ground because of him? What a charmer and how bloody typical of them. But his mental censor stopped Zin saying what he really wanted to say, at least initially, as he responded.

"Is it because it looks like I'm tracking something?" He asked while still facing forward, taking something out of the carry rig on his chest and holding it over his shoulder for the Sangheili to take. Looked like a business card. "Almost as if I'm a hunter of some kind? Sanctioned by a reputable Guild and chasing after a murderer and thief?" The card would have the crest of Eayn's Grasp as well as the guild name, Zin's name and his Guild identification, and finally a picture of Zin on it. The same crest would be on the upper arms of both of Zin's arms on his shirt as he then smirked a bit. "And I'm dangerous heading toward Sedra City? That's bold coming from a Sangheili, considering it was one of you who attacked the city just a few months ago. You would do well not to assume things about my species without taking into account your own follies Sangheili."

Zin was still half crouched as he watched the clearing, wondering if that female would show up now, she would probably get a laugh out of it before she was shot.

N'tho examined the Guild Identification, and nodded. "Apologies. But I am sure you can understand my mistrust." He said, before continuing to respond to the rest of the Jackal's sarcastic spiel. "The members of my people working for 'Mdama have nothing to do with me. I am a warrior of the Swords, and a follower of the Arbiter." Bringing up the history of covenant remnant attacks on Sedra was harsh, even if it was a cold reality. Well, everything checked out for now but he still would need to ask a few more questions, with the channel now open to his commander. "You mentioned that you were tracking a murderer, and a thief." His HUD blipped and he responded by pressing into his helmet with a finger. "Yes sir." He would follow the Jackal now, just to make sure he wasn't a threat.

Its like an annoying pet.

"No, I can't - and don't give me that wash of that your not a member of any said dangerous group. You assumed the EXACT same thing about me except that I was a pirate or other lowlife! You're not my boss, you don't get to make assumptions about me. And you really didn't make a good case for yourself when you tried to sneak up on me and are holding me at gunpoint for all I know." Zin's mane at been steadily rising as he spoke, keeping his voice low in case they were being watched or his target was in range, but after finishing he took a breath and the feathers lowered down again before he responded again, scanning around as he noticed movement at the far end of the clearing. The T'vaoan pulling out his DMR as he sighed when he could hear the tromping footsteps of the Sangheili following him.

"Keep the card in case you need services later. But yes, my mark stole from my client and murdered two of his employees when they tried to stop them. And that's all you are going to be told so don't ask again. And if you are going to insist on following me at least try to be stealthy so the mark doesn't hear you a mile off."

Zin was now moving around the clearing, keeping an eye on the space where he had seen movement in case he caught a glimpse of red that would reveal that the female was here. Keeping in the treeline to try and not be seen...though if he and the Jelly hadn't been heard yet she would probably be able to see the big lunk. Zin ready to enter a foot chase if needed.

N'tho grunted. "Whatever." Some of the stubborn natures of his ANVIL Spartan teammates were starting to rub off on him. "You can proceed in tracking this thief and murderer." Remaining silent, N'tho started following after the Jackal slowly. "Your mark will most likely see me like this." N'tho whispered, activating his active camouflage to make it easier for Zin to follow her. Unless she could already see them, in which case a pursuit on foot would likely follow.

And so the chase begins.

At least the Sangheili seemed to abandon his perceived moral high road with a much more gutteral statement in regards to Zin calling him out on his bullshit. It made the T'vaoan smile. A small victory he could have even if the mark had already scarpered. Though he didn't need the Sangheili's permission he nodded and focused back on where he had seen the movement before. And there it was again...something for sure was there. But he had no idea what it was. Could be a creature of this planet for all he knew. Needed to get closer.

But he glanced back when he heard a quiet wuangh behind him and saw the Sangheili shimmer away. Well that would help at least. Nodding at that he looked back forward just in time to see a flash of red before a plasma pistol shot was fired in his direction. Except instead of the normal green it was bright red. Well that was the red of the females hair and the special plasma pistol being fired at him so she sure was there. And sure had seen them. Zin dropping flat as the bolt streaked over his head. A few of his feathers singed and his head now very hot as Zin hissed and rolled sideways before leaping from a crouch toward where the shot had come from.

But the female was already running. Zin knowing he wouldn't be able to make an accurate shot through all this foilage as he shifted his DMR to one hand and gave chance. Confident in his running ability to be able to outrun both the Human and the Sangheili as long as he didn't trip on anything in the underbrush...or run into a trap. The T'vaoan keep focus on his motion tracker in case other contacts showed up as he chased down the fleeing mark.
