Main augmentations aside from the standard Spartan-II augmentations include:
Integrated Reflex Enhancements
A set of microcomputers implanted into the subjects' brains, allowing them to have reflexes more than four times as fast as those of regular SPARTAN-IIs - 5 milliseconds outside of combat, and only a single millisecond within combat. These reaction speeds are high enough to allow the dodging of bullets at medium-close range, though not at point-blank distance. EMP shielded, to avoid risking frying the subjects' brains.
Cybernetic Muscular Improvements
The same electroreactive elements used in the MJOLNIR armour are directly implanted into the subjects' muscles, increasing both the speed and strength of their muscles, a process that allows them to actually put their reflexes to use, as well as increasing their sprinting speed by a factor of 1.5, bringing their speed when sprinting to roughly 24.5 m/s. They also give them sufficient strength to lift almost 10 tons. These are EMP Shielded to avoid any issues with the use of such devices.
Notes: A strong electrical shock immobilises the subject. Avoid tasers and the like at all costs.
Leucocytic Coprotein Complex & Microfibrin Spindlapse
This procedure was rejected from the standard SPARTAN-II project due to the fail rates. It allows for near-instant clotting, making bleeding out almost impossible.
Notes: Causes a severe fear of physical contact with blood. Recommend modifying shield to deflect blood.
Cybernetic Heart & Liver
The subjects' hearts are implanted with a device that regulates blood flow evenly in high-stress situations to assist with focus, and can allow for operation at high blood flow rates to enhance their effectiveness in combat without risking the subjects' lives. The liver is implanted with machinery to allow extremely effective filtering of toxins, to the point of allowing survival while actively breathing noxious gases, though the subjects are slightly weakened by the gases nonetheless, and can also flood the system with adrenaline, a process that cuts their reaction times down by a further half, bringing combat reactions to half of a millisecond and doubling strength a second time, though this is only used in dire situations, as the toll it takes on the subjects' body and mind is extreme.
Secondary Catalytic Thyroid Implant
In addition to the one HGH pellet implanted into the SPARTAN-IIs, the subjects of the HNTR Project received a second, larger one, modified to focus purely on their bone structure, giving them an average height of 8'2", and additional muscle mass.
Notes: This causes weakening in the ossification. While their bones are still incredibly tough, they aren't unbreakable.
Prototype Precognition Neural Implant
Based off data gathered from the brains of certain unusual individuals (who proved exceptionally difficult to capture), most notably Caleb Aagard, this implant allowed for a form of faint 'precognition', though it only gave the subjects extremely accurate hunches about events in the near future (~2-3 minutes). This never passed the early prototype phase, as it was too complex to improve further. It was implanted into the HNTR subjects regardless.
Notes: Hunches from this are indistinguishable from normal hunches. Rely on them with some level of caution, at least.
SPECIAL NOTES:
00 was a failure. 01 succeeded. 02-10 all failed as well. One out of 11 was roughly what was expected with the death rates from the implants, however.
Freelancer armour enhancements are incompatible with their augmentations.
One more thing of critical note is that they cannot be identified by their number once the project begins. They need to forget what their number was, and what their name was, in addition. If the regular spartan-IIs find out that some of the people (or as it is now, person) who 'died during augmentation' are, in fact, alive... Well, they may not take it lightly. The HNTRs are blanked - memories cleared, and new ones made. They won't recognise the others. Their files will remain readable only by Section O, and their original IDs unspoken.
The worst possible outcome would be a violent reaction - an assumption that they were an imposter, a fake, or just straight up being angry that they didn't die when the others did.
